Tascam

TASCAM is the professional audio division of the Japanese TEAC Corporation. The manufacturer became famous in the late 1970s with the introduction of the music cassette-based Portastudio, which allowed musicians to record multitrack for the first time without investing a fortune in the studio equipment of the time. Home recording was now affordable for every recording musician. The first Portastudio has long since been replaced by digital recorders, which TASCAM offers in several variations. Today, TASCAM produces versatile digital recording equipment for a wide range of applications - from podcasters to professional recording studios.

About Tascam

In 1971, TASCAM emerged from the development department that until then had operated under the name TASC (TEAC Audio Systems Corp.), founded by Mr. K. Tani and Dr. Abe. Shortly afterwards, they brought the first affordable multitrack recorders with Simul-Sync onto the market, which were produced in large quantities. Since 1974, TASCAM's American division has been headquartered in Montebello, California. TASCAM Europe is located in Wiesbaden, Germany.

Recording Equipment from TASCAM

TASCAM stands for affordable audio eqipment with limitless professional applications.

  • Mixing consoles and multitrack recorders: The years of expertise in producing high-quality mixing consoles are reflected in the current models of the Digital Portastudios. Here, the DP-24SD and DP-32SD are two high-quality models to choose from.
  • Loudspeakers & monitoring: In addition to the MH-8 eight-way headphone amplifier, the VL-S5 active monitors provide a great listening experience.
  • Audio recorders and audio players from TASCAM: The handheld recorders of the DR series enjoy great popularity among musicians and sound professionals. The SR Series solid-state recorders make practical recording technology available on 19" format memory cards. With the HS series, TASCAM takes into account the professional user group, and the popular CD recorders are still in the range.
  • Audio interfaces: The interfaces of the US series support up to 20 inputs (US-20x20) making them special among the USB interfaces available on the market.
  • Microphones: With the brand new TM series studio microphones, Tascam offers high-quality products at attractive prices in this area.
  • Musician's tools: Tuners and trainers/recorders for various instruments and vocals round off the product range and offer useful "little helpers" for musicians' needs.
