Fender - Guitars & Amps

Fender produces all kinds of electric and acoustic stringed instruments. They gained fame especially through the production of electric guitars. The prototype of the modern electric guitar is the Fender Stratocaster, which is also the most copied guitar in the world. Fender Guitars – About the Legendary Manufacturer

In 1946, Leo Fender and his partner George Fullerton founded the Electric Instrument Manufacturing Company in Fullerton, California, which is now known as Fender Musical Instruments Corporation.

Fender is one of the most renowned manufacturers of electric guitars, electric basses and guitar amplifiers. Today, the headquarters are located in Scottsdale, Arizona, and its numerous production facilities are now scattered across the USA, Mexico, Korea and Japan. The importance of the company is based on the pioneering work of the 1950s and 1960s. During this time, Fender produced the first mass-produced solid-body electric guitar, the Telecaster model.

Fender Guitars: Characteristic sound, simple and robust

Countless musicians, including Mister Slowhand Eric Clapton and legends like Kurt Cobain and Jimi Hendrix made the sound of the Fender guitar famous, as did young musicians like Avril Lavigne and bands like Silbermond. Characteristic as the sound of the Fender guitars is their clear focus on mass production, the simplicity, robustness and the almost exclusive use of single-coil pickups (coil pickups).

Fender Guitar Classics: Strat and Tele – unique with famous “Twang-Sound“

The body of every Fender guitar is usually made of light woods such as alder or ash. Unlike the main competitor; Gibson guitars, which normally glue the neck into the body, Fender screws the neck to the body of almost every Fender guitar. Furthermore, in contrast to the acoustic and Gibson guitars, the tuners of most Fender guitars are all mounted side by side on one side of the headstock. In combination with the in-house amplifiers, all these small details contribute to the classic and well-known "Fender sound" which many guitarists often compare to the sound of a clear bell. Fender Stratocaster and Fender Telecaster are available in many different versions, the basics of which is based on different epochs of Fender guitars. The most distinctive feature of the Fender Stratocaster is the bolt-on neck: Made of Maple with a fretboard that not made of rosewood until the end of the 50s or beginning of the 60s. Today both versions exist. The Stratocaster RW (Rosewood) is one of the modern Fender Stratocaster designs. A famous design with a maple fingerboard is the Fender Stratocaster OWT, which stands for Olympic White: it is the Fender Stratocaster model as Jimi Hendrix played it.

Fender Mustang - The Grunge Guitar

Originally designed as an entry-level guitar, the Fender Mustang is also one of the most popular electric guitars - it is the counterpart to the Gibson Les Paul Junior. Many guitar beginners sold their Fender Mustang to the American Pawn shops at that time. In the 90s, up-and-coming guitarists who were interested in a reasonable guitar for little money came across it. The Fender Mustang electric guitar became very popular in the grunge scene. Kurt Cobain, for example, was an avid Jagstang player until his death: a mixture of Fender Mustang and Fender Jaguar guitar.

Fender guitars available in different price classes

Nowadays, it is possible to get a real Strat or Tele from Fender with every budget. In order to be able to offer electric guitars in different price ranges, the American manufacturer uses several production facilities. American-made electric guitars (MiA, Made in America) are the best, in midfield are the Fender guitars from Mexico (MiM). The guitars from Asian production, which appear under the Fender Squier brand, are much cheaper.

Fender Stratocaster Made in Mexico (MiM)

The Fender guitars of the Classic Player series cost between 900 and 1,100 Euro. They define the middle class of the Fender range and are produced in Mexico. Custom Shop Designs are also implemented by Fender, which contribute to its wide variety of models.

Fender Custom Shop – Premium Fender Guitars of the highest order!

For demanding guitarists who don't want a Fender guitar off the peg, the door to the Fender Custom Shop opens. Especially popular are vintage-look Fender guitars, which can be found in many different forms in the Custom Shop models. Fender guitars in classical designs are included in the Relic series in various versions, e.g. the Strat as Relic 3TS, which stands for "3 tone sunburst", or the Fender David Gilmour Relic Strat in deep black. The guitars of this series are decorated with attention to detail with small scratches and paint damage to give the impression that these Fender guitars have been played for years. As the name already implies, the artificial signs of wear on the Heavy Relic models are more striking - the paint is worn down to the bare wood in some parts. Not only is the look unique: These are brand new Fender guitars, which get some special features from the Custom Shop Master-builders in tuning and equipment details. This is of course reflected in the price of these unique pieces, which we carry in our Custom Shop with certificate and serial number.
