Thanks to its solid tonewoods, the Yamaha FS 9M produces a powerful sound with a strong character. This is supported by the innovative Scalloped-X-Bracing and a wafer-thin nitrocellulose finish, which favor the vibration behavior. This allows the sound to unfold freely and unadulterated with even the lightest touch. The woods used here also demonstrate the high quality of the instrument and ensure a tone of star quality. The mahoganyback and sides, for example, deliver a warm sound with a concise mid-range and quick response, while the Adirondack spruce top contributes clear overtones that increasingly develop to perfection.

Shortened scale length
Thanks to its short scale length of 635 mm in particular, this model impresses with its accommodating playability. The lower string tension reduces the effort required to grip the instrument and prevents premature fatigue of the fretting hand. For a pleasant playing feel, the manufacturer also relies on a mahogany neck with a V-profile and a velvety ebony fingerboard ebony fingerboardwhich enables effortless gliding over all 20 frets. The 44 mm widebone nut meets all the requirements for powerful strumming and delicate flatpicking. The required clean intonation with high tuning stability is ensured by the ebony bridge with bone inlayand ebony bridge pins as well as robust yet smooth-running tuners.
