The Yamaha FGC-TA Vintage Tint at a glance
The instruments from the Yamaha Trans Acoustic series convince with their extensive and versatile pickup system which, with its built-in effects and autonomous amplification, offers the player a wide range of possible uses. In addition, the Yamaha FGC-TA Vintage Tint produces a powerful and warm sound that is ideal for fine picking and expressive strumming. Thanks to the generous cutaway, the flat neck can be cutaway up to the highest positions and has enough space to master even complex fingering patterns with ease. The excellent quality of the acoustic guitar is also demonstrated by the compensated bridge inlay and the finely notched nut, which are precisely aligned with each other. Furthermore, the strings can be easily tuned using the smooth-running machine heads. Visually, the acoustic guitar is rounded off by elegant inlays and bindings, which tastefully complement the wafer-thin high-gloss finish with vintage tint colouring.
Construction and woods
The top is made from solid spruce so that the dreadnought acoustic guitar can produce a round and clear sound. The evenly grained tonewood provides the guitar with differentiated mid and treble frequencies so that both chords and individual notes come across perfectly. The laminated mahogany back and sides enrich the sound with warm bass frequencies that create a pleasant carpet of sound. The flat Nato neck is equipped with a rosewood fingerboard into which 20 frets are worked. The bridgeis also made from the finest rosewood.
Hardware and design
The saddle and the 43 mm wide nut made of urea ensure clean intonation over the entire scale length of 650 mm. Smooth-running die-cast tuners with chrome hardware are inserted into the headstock, guaranteeing precise tuning of the Dreadnought guitar. The fretboard is marked with discreet dot inlays, which serve as a guide and provide a pleasant contrast to the coarse-grained rosewood. The cream-coloured multi-ply bindings separate the individual components of the body from one another and are perfectly matched to the double-ring soundhole rosette with their delicate design. The top is also fitted with a transparent pickguard.
Electronics
The System70 TransAcoustic pickup system is undoubtedly the heart of the Yamaha FGC-TA Vintage Tint acoustic guitar and provides the player with comprehensive flexibility. The ingenious system functions like a loudspeaker located directly in the instrument. The back forms the speaker cone. In addition, the active pickup is equipped with an integrated reverb and chorus effect, which can be conveniently added via the side preamp. The entire pickup system is activated at the touch of a button. For use on the big stage, the guitar can also be connected to an external amplifier.
