The Yamaha EAD10 Drum Module is an innovative all-in-one solution for turning your acoustic drum kit into a versatile hybrid drum kit. The special feature of the EAD10 is that only the bass drum is triggered classically and the rest is picked up from the acoustic drums via microphone. This acoustic signal is then upgraded or replaced by a high-quality sample as desired. The EAD10 from Yamaha has 757 high-quality sounds and additional 32 MB memory for your own samples.
As usual, an AUX-IN, a headphone output and a metronome are also integrated. 3 stereo-jack trigger inputs provide the possibility to connect up to 6 mono triggers and one foot switch. The supplied sensor is clamped to the hoop of the bass drum, from there the two integrated microphones record the sound of the drum set in a differentiated way and you can either completely replace the signals of the individual drums with the module or mix them with the samples. A free app allows you to shoot a video from your own playing and synchronize it with the recorded soundtrack, so drum covers or tutorials can easily be posted on the Internet.
The EAD10 module from Yamaha consists of two parts: The EAD10 module and the EAD sensor, which is clamped to the hoop of the bass drum and from there catches the whole drum set by triggering the bass drum normally and covering the rest of the set using two integrated microphones. These signals are transported via two cables to the actual Yamaha EAD10 module, where they can be processed and mixed with effects and wave samples. Thanks to differentiated frequency separation, each drum can be processed individually, and even the cymbals can be assigned effects. In addition, up to 6 mono triggers and an additional foot switch can be connected in three stereo sockets. An external sound source can be connected via an AUX IN (3.5 mm) and mixed to the signals of the EAD10. In just a few minutes, a professionally recorded soundtrack is arranged, which is either sent to a sound system in live use via the direct outs or transmitted via USB to a smartphone or laptop.
The Yamaha EAD10 757 module provides the drummer with high-quality wave samples that can be used flexibly in 50 presets or 200 user kits. Furthermore, 32 MB internal memory is available, so you can use your own samples. Thanks to the USB connection, the module can also be used with any DAW, which is particularly interesting for drummers who want to record their own small demos or even for professional music productions.
The free IOS Rec'n-Share app makes it possible to record the performance with the iPhone and then synchronize it with the audio track of the EAD10. Thus professional drum covers or instructive drum tutorials are produced in no time and uploaded to YouTube or Facebook. To learn and rehearse songs, the music in the app can be played at different speeds and provided with an automatically generated click track.
