Yamaha BB734A: Elaborate construction for first-class sound and playing comfort
The sandwich construction of the body of the Yamaha BB734A features a maple middle layer between the alder back and top, promising an emphatically assertive mid-range spectrum and a particularly lively sound development, which is supported by the elaborate "miter" fastening system of the maple-mahogany neck. This relies on two diagonally inserted screws that pull the neck firmly into its pocket, while four straight screws guarantee a robust connection. With its perfect curves, the neck also sits comfortably in the hand, making it easy to groove on the rosewood fingerboard.
Alnico pickups and active electronics
The Yamaha BB734A turns out to be a true all-rounder on the amplifier, laying the right groove foundation for every style of music. With two classic-style Alnico V pickups, a Yamaha VSP7n split coil in the middle position and a Yamaha VSC7b single coil on the bridge, it delivers lively vintage sounds on the amplifier that are sure to please with vibrant dynamics and endless Sustain. Furthermore, the four-string is equipped with musically tuned 3-band active electronics that allow precise intervention in the bass, mids and treble, so that the desired sound can be found quickly and intuitively. It is also possible to switch off the Equalizer via a mini-switch and thus enjoy the pure passive sound.
High-quality Yamaha hardware
The Yamaha BB734 Fired Red Sunburst also offers perfectly coordinated hardware equipment. Accordingly, the Yamaha Vintage Plus bridge sits on the body, which is built particularly solidly with a steel base plate and brass string saddles, thus supporting the Sustain. Furthermore, it is possible to either guide the strings through the body at a 45° angle or to hook them in from above in the classic "top load" manner and thus influence the response of the strings. The Yamaha Lightweight Open-Gear tuners on the headstock effectively counteract top-heaviness and at the same time ensure precise and robust tuning of the Basses.
