Lublin from XAOC Devices is a high-quality Dual VCA for processing audio signals. The two channels have an identical design and are not coupled to each other. Each channel has an audio input and output, an exponential CV input and a ping input. The latter use an elaborate analog circuit to emulate the dynamic behavior of vactrols. This triggers a gain response that mimics the natural decay of plucked and strummed acoustic instruments. Unlike most other LPG (Lowpass Gate) modules, Lublin reduces the gain while retaining the full frequency bandwidth. This is particularly beneficial for sounds that have a high overtone content. The vactrol-like behavior is only a starting point, as the envelope can be varied over a wide range using switches (natural, shortened and extended response) and a knob, so you are not limited to one decay characteristic. Lublin is therefore not only suitable for producing typical "Buchla bongos", but also for fat, compressed kicks, for example. An integrated protection circuit prevents distortion caused by excessive amplification.
