A piece of recording studio history comes back to life
The WA-44 is a faithful reproduction of the most famous studio ribbon microphone of all time. Just like the legendary RCA 44 ribbons from the 1930s, the WA-44 delivers warm vintage recordings and is ideal for loud audio sources. The figure-of-eight polar pattern eliminates side noise, while the vintage-style ribbon and CineMag transformer provide powerful bass with a pronounced proximity effect, rich mids and tamed highs. This reduces excessive harshness in the upper frequency range and emphasizes the warm sound character. With its high-quality components and first-class workmanship, the WA-44 is the perfect choice for recording lead signals for vocals, brass, acoustic, drums, piano and much more.
High quality construction
The WA-44 is manufactured in boutique quality and matches the quality of the most valuable original vintage microphones. Itcombines a full-length, custom-made Japanese ribbon made of 99.1% aluminium with a heavy, custom-made neodymium magnet driven by a CineMag transformer made in the USA. This results in the classic ribbon sound and a long service life, so that the microphone always works reliably even under heavy loads and long periods of use.
