Fracture from WMD is a digital drum voice for creating clapping sounds with an astonishing range. In terms of sound, the module covers a wide range between hip-hop samples, classic drum machines and audience applause. It utilizes the qualities of granular synthesis and combines them with micro-samples and impulses consisting of clapping, snapping, ping-pong balls, the opening of a beer can and much more. The controls can be used to define the sound in detail, even to control details such as "how many people and how close together they sound". Three filters and envelope modes each leave nothing to be desired in terms of how versatile handclaps can sound these days. Even a free-running, voltage-controlled applause function has been included! The signal path concludes with a stereo reverb effect, the intensity of which can be adjusted and which offers a choice between a reverb or room algorithm. In this complexity, Fracture is a unique selling point that makes it something special in this percussion segment.
