Vintage Reissued VJ74VG Ventura Green: authentic construction with alder and maple
The design of the Vintage Reissued VJ74VG Ventura Green at Vintage is based on the classic electric basses of the 1970s and the body is made from alder, which is finished with a classy 'Ventura Green' gloss finish. Four screws and a neckplate are used to attach the maple neck, whose jatoba fingerboard features 20 frets and authentic Dot-Inlays. With its well-proportioned "C" profile and the wide fretboard with 38 mm nut size, the E-Bass furthermore offers a high level of playing comfort.
The two Wiklkinson single coils of the Vintage Reissued VJ74VG conjure up characterful bass sounds from funk to rock.
Wilkinson pickups for versatile Vintage sounds
Two Wilkinson WOJB single coils developed by Trevor Wilkinson are used as pickups on the Vintage Reissued VJ74. Classically constructed with four pairs of pole pieces flanking each string, the pickups deliver a transparent sound with a fast attack. The signals from both pickups can be mixed together using individual volume controls, providing a wide range of harmonious tones for almost any style of music between rock, funk, Blues and pop. This ranges from a rich low end boost when the middle pickup is used alone to the dry assertiveness of the bridge pickup used alone and all levels in between. A treble control is also available for further sound adjustment.
Wilkinson WJBL175 tuners on the headstock ensure precise tuning.
Indestructible hardware
The features of the Vintage Reissued JV74 Bass are completed by high-quality hardware. A Wilkinson Standard Bass bridge is used on the body, which ensures perfect intonation and string position with four adjustable string saddles. From here, the strings are guided with a classic long scale length (34" or 864 mm) towards the headstock, where Wilkinson WJBL175 tuners ensure precise and robust tuning. Furthermore, the 4-string Bass is equipped with a historically inspired tortoise pickguard, which gives it the authentic Vintage look.
I heard good reports about Vintage stuff, but for the money, this bass is top notch. Out of box, couldn't believe how good this guitar arrived. Sounds good too. Definitely recommend.
