The Vox amPlug-3 series at a glance
The Vox amPlug-3 series represents the third Generation of the extremely popular headphone amps from Vox, which are considered an absolute secret weapon thanks to their professional sound quality and can be found in the accessory compartment of many guitarists and bassists. The battery-powered headphone amps in an ultra-compact housing format are simply plugged into the jack socket of the instrument and played through standard headphones, making them ideal as practice amps on the go. In addition to the pure amplifier sound, the amPlug models also offer some useful onboard effects as well as a rhythm section and an aux input, which also enable practicing to Drum grooves and backing tracks.
Vox amPlug 3 and Drive
Fans of classic British rock sounds will get their money's worth with the Vox amPlug 3 and Drive. The compact headphone amp simulates the sound of a fully ripped 100-watt tube stack and, just like its role model, stands for a wide range of possible genres from characterful Blues rock to stadium-filling hard rock acts. Channel 1 is geared more towards traditional vintage sounds, while channel 2 offers the full distortion broadside. In combination with the effects section consisting of a chorus, a delay and a reverb, this results in a huge variety of potential sound options.
