The Vox V863-CA Semi-Auto Wah is a particularly ingenious design from the English amplifier manufacturer from Milton Keynes, which combines a classic Vox wah pedal with the advantages of the auto-wah effect. The V863-CA offers three switchable modes for this purpose. The first is the standard mode, which allows classic wah control using the foot switch. In envelope generator mode, however, the wah effect is triggered automatically with every note to enable particularly fast-triggering wah sounds. Things get really interesting in envelope follower mode: here the wah reacts to the player's touch dynamics, resulting in smooth transitions. Both envelope modes can be adjusted in relation to the effect speed using the side controls for Attack and Sensitivity/Decay. Particularly practical: In the automatic modes, you can take control at any time by moving the rocker switch. The transition time control determines the transition time between automatic and manual control.
