With the Vox Mini Superbeetle Bass, the long-established British company has launched a bass amplifier in the classic half stack design of the wild 1960s. Accordingly, the bass speaker and amp top are supported by a chic chrome frame, while the checkered front panel provides an authentic vintage look. Based on the innovative Nutube circuitry, the Vox Mini Superbeetle bass top delivers an authentic tube sound that can be perfectly adjusted using the 4-band tone control. In addition, the compressor and fuzz are two of the most popular bass effects on board, so there are no limits to the sound possibilities. With 50 Watt power and the 8" Vox loudspeaker of the Bass Cabinet, the Vox Mini Superbeetle Bass delivers powerful bass sounds with high volume reserves.
I did have to wait quite a while to get this as it was stuck in transit crossing the channel tunnel to the UK. When I received it the box was a bit torn, but nevertheless, the amp was in perfect condition.
It has all you would want from a basic bedroom amp, plus a few nice little touches which really make it stand out. I love running my Hofner 500/1 into this with the compression on. With a bit of muting, it is very easy to get the McCartney tone.
This won't do for gigs at all as it is not big or loud enough. However, for home use, it could not be better
Looks awesome sitting in my living room next to my other Vox Superbeetle. I think this one is a keeper!
