The Ultrasone Pro 1480i is a professional studio headphone that stands out due to its exact reproduction of the audio signal, durability, open design and its high wearing comfort. This makes it not only the ideal choice for mixing sessions, but also for mastering as reference headphones.
Listening Pleasure
The Pro 1480i extends the series and delivers a particularly clear, airy sound thanks to its dynamic, open design. The S-Logic Plus technology, with its decentralised driver arrangement, is responsible for the first-rate spaciousness and depth. It requires significantly less SPL for the same volume impression, which protects the user's ears and allows long working hours without hearing fatigue. Thanks to its open design the wearing comfort is additionally supported: The capsules allow air to reach the ear and sit comfortably on the head even during longer sessions. The soft velour ear cushions can also be easily replaced.
Accurate Representation
The Pro 1480i uses 40mm Mylar transducers designed for analytical reproduction in a professional environment. Transparency and attention to detail are the main features, whilst the entire listening range from 20Hz to 20kHz is always reproduced neutrally and honestly. Mixing and mastering across any genre boundaries is therefore no problem, as the sound has not been optimized for any specific tonal pattern.
Processing
Longevity also plays an important role in meeting the demands of professional use. Thanks to high-quality materials and good workmanship, sound professionals can rely on their equipment for years to come. Practically, the ear pads can be easily replaced, as can the detachable, single-sided cable.
The main features of the Ultrasone Pro 1480i include:
After 3 years of working with them I can tell - they works. You can use them for mixing. May seems too harsh at beginning, but all Ultrasone headphones needs pretty long driver burn-out, at least for a 2 months to stabilize the sound.
They're not very pleasing for just listening music - purely because they tell too much. Good professional mixes always sounds.. okey-ish, but bad mixes are just plain horrible. And this is good for a tool they meant to be.
