Extensive drum samples in first-class quality
The Toontrack State or the Art SDX is an exclusive sound library extension for Superior Drummer 3, produced by audio engineering legend Elliot Scheiner. Known for his work with artists such as Steely Dan, The Eagles and the Foo Fighters, Scheiner has recorded seven carefully selected drum kits covering an impressive range from Vintage to modern sounds. The recordings took place at the renowned clubhouse Studio in upstate New York, which offers three different recording spaces: the dry and dense Studio Iso, the warm Library Room and the acoustically near-perfect Live Room. This variety of rooms provides a broad spectrum of sound colors that is unparalleled in digital drum production.
Each of the seven drum sets was recorded using first-class miking techniques, including a classic Decca Tree setup and additional room microphones. Furthermore, two drum sets were sampled with brushes to provide additional flexibility and variety in the selection of drum sounds . In total, the Library includes 16 bass drums, 20 snare drums, 6 hi-hats, 25 cymbals and 42 toms, which can be used in various configurations. Some drum sets even include additional Toms or a side snare to provide even more sonic options.
In addition to the drum sounds, the State or the Art SDX offers 83 mix-ready presets created by Elliot Scheiner and the Toontrack sound design team. These presets are ready to use and offer a perfect balance for professional drum mixes. For users who prefer their own drum patterns, Library also contains 550 genre-specific MIDI drum grooves and fillsrecorded by Norman Garschke. Each performance has been carefully matched to the respective drum sets to ensure maximum authenticity and musical expression.
With its first-class recording quality, large selection of drum kits and extensive library of MIDI grooves, the State or the Art SDX offers the perfect solution for demanding music productions. Whether for classical, modern or experimental projects - this Library is an indispensable extension for Superior Drummer 3.
