Toontrack's Modern Retro EZX combines the warm vintage character of acoustic drum kits with the sonic precision of modern studio recordings. This EZX extension for EZdrummer 3 and Superior Drummer 3offers three carefully selected drum kits from the mid-20th century - recorded at the renowned Svenska Grammofonstudion in Gothenburg. The studio's acoustic conditions with ten meter high ceilings and naturally controlled room acoustics give the drums a simultaneously airy and compact sound that is perfect for genres such as pop, soul, R&B and groovy pocket beats.
Organic drum sound with authentic vintage depth
The sound aesthetics of the Library are characterized by calf and cowhide-covered drums, which ensure a particularly soft, warm and resonant sound - far removed from any modern sterility. To bring out the full character of the source material, only high-quality ribbon and tube microphones in mid/side configurations and classic close miking were used. The result is drum sounds that can hold their own in Mix as well as shine as soloists.
From raw to refined: Mix presets for every style
A central feature of the Modern Retro EZX are the versatile mix presets, which range from natural and unadorned to creatively distorted with saturation, compression and Distortion. The sound palette is complemented by a specially created MIDI pattern archive that offers authentic grooves and fills - ideal for quick inspiration when songwriting or for direct use in production.
