Chorus is an effect card for Tiptop Audio's Z-DSP and is equipped with eight different Chorus algorithms, which compress the incoming synthesizer voice and make it sound as if more voices are present. The Z-DSP is an open source DSP for the modular system and can exchange various programs with the help of the plug-in cards.
The chorus effects use one or more modulated delay lines to increase the number of voices. The more voices there are, the denser and more complex the sound. The average delay times are 18-24 milliseconds.
The spirit of modular music is maintained by the high bandwidth of control parameters. From subtle and smooth to fast LFO modulations with a lot of sweet spots.
The Z-DSP's analog feedback transforms the chorus effects into wonderful, lush and organic drone sounds. The feedback inputs can also be used to use up to four external sources to create drones with a subtle classical chorus.
