The Temple Audio Design SOLO 18 Guitar Effects Pedal Gunmetal is a compact and light weight pedal board featuring innovative quick release pedal mounting technology; perfect for building your ideal pedal board with minimal hassle.
The unique perforated top surface and strategically placed cable management holes allow you to “Tetris” in a lot more pedals than you might think (as well as mount power supply/pedals underneath!). This is a great board for acoustic guitarists, minimalist gurus, or those wanting a secondary board to load up just the essentials for smaller gigs.
The main features of the Temple Audio Design SOLO 18 Guitar Effects Pedal Gunmetal include:
Pros
Small and compact.
Great ways to add on modules for power/audio connects.
Solid (although this is just the small one so can't speak for the bigger models).
Nice colour options.
Negatives
The plates don't fit properly in every hole in the board.
The plates reduce the amount of space available for pedals, especially if a power supply is installed underneath with the plates too.
The plates also aren't the length of the pedal platform so unless you buy a pair per pedal, the pedal will rock when you engage the footswitch.
The rubber feet are way too small and don't give enough clearance underneath for every power supply (mine is a strymon zuma).
So overall I like this board as I like the neatness of the additional modules, but I have had some problems and had to modify a little.
I've had to find and install some bigger rubber feet so there is clearance for my power supply.
I did buy the pedal plates (absolute waste of money) cost a lot of money considering what it's doing. the plates don't always fit in the holes like the boards punched holes aren't precisely spaced out. The plates also make it hard to find proper space for you pedals. The biggest dissapointment of the pedal plates apart from wasting the money is once you've realised you don't want them, you end up with a hell of a job and mess getting it off you pedal.
My pedals I've taken the plates off still have the double sided foam stuff on so you have to use alcohol to get it off and and it takes a while.
My best advice is buy some dual lock, it's like velcro but so much stronger and to keep the board clean just make dual lock tabs the size of the pedal and once attached to the board you want see the velcro and you won't need to worry about the pedal falling off.
