Teenage Engineering OB-4 matte black
Magic Radio
With the OB-4,Teenage Engineering has reinvented the portable radio and added a few refinements such as a sample function and Bluetooth. A high-fidelity speaker system with two 4-inch woofers and a pair of neodymium tweeters ensures detailed sound reproduction. With 38 watts per channel and a sound pressure level of up to 100dB, they impress with a clean and natural sound. The flow-optimized bass reflex channel ensures deep and round bass. The built-in rechargeable battery also contributes to the mobility of the OB-4. Once fully charged, up to 72 hours of music enjoyment are possible; at maximum volume, the running time is reduced to around 8 hours. On average, however, around 40 hours of operation can be achieved. The spiral antenna can be neatly concealed in the handle if required, so it is not lying around when reception is good and continues to fulfill its purpose. The handle can also be used to vary the position of the OB-4. The Teenage Engineering OB-4 matte black loudspeaker is ideal wherever it should not be constantly quiet and good sound is desired at the same time. Be it as a radio at the workplace, as a Bluetooth speaker for the playlist on a smartphone, as a mobile speaker for an equally mobile synthesizer setup or for installations in stores and restaurants.
Four playback modes
Sampling: During operation, the OB-4 constantly records for two hours at a time. So if you miss your favorite song or the news on the radio, you can manually turn back the tape wheel, which always moves along and reacts dynamically, until you reach the desired point. You can also fast forward and change the playback speed within these two hours.
Alternatively, any signal (e.g. MP3 player or OP-Z synthesizer) can be fed in via the audio input (3.5 mm stereo jack); in Bluetooth mode (A2DP / stereo AAC, BT 5 LE), you can connect your smartphone to the OB-4. The fourth option is Disk mode, which currently offers three alternative modes that, apart from the metronome, are suitable for constant background sprinkling:
Ambient: Drone sounds generated from parts of the radio program
