The Technics - SL-1210MK7R is a limited special edition of the proven SL-1210MK7 DJ turntable. Since mid 2020, Technics acts as official partner of Red Bull BC One, the world's largest breakdance competition. To mark the occasion, Technics presents the "Red Bull BC One" SL-1210MK7R turntable as a special model.
Based on the SL-1210MK7, the special edition SL-1210MK7R is characterized by special features such as the head shell in Red Bull red, the golden tonearm, the slipmat in BC One design, the special control vinyl labels and the included "Technics x Red Bull BC One" sticker.
The Technics - SL-1210MK7R has the same ease of use, reliability and durability as the SL-1210MK7. This DJ turntable also features a coreless direct drive motor, reverse play function and an extended pitch range from ±8% to ±16%. The gold-colored tonearm is statically balanced and highly sensitive, providing high-precision sampling of the record signal. In terms of vibration damping, the Technics SL-1210MK7R features a two-layer platter design, a highly stable housing and effective damping feet. Apart from that, the DJ turntable is equipped with a durable and bright LED needle lighting. Other very practical features include detachable power and signal cables for greater flexibility and start/stop torque adjustment.
In a direct-drive turntable, the motor is directly connected to the turntable. The so-called detent torque could cause small irregularities in the rotation. For this reason, a new direct drive motor has been designed for the Technics SL-1210MK7, which works with a stator without an iron core and thus completely eliminates the source of the detent torque. This results in a smooth rotation and a powerful drive torque to ensure precise and detailed sound quality on all records.
The Technics SL-1210MK7R features a gold-colored, statically balanced S-shaped tone arm that captures the music information contained in the record groove. The tonearm tube is made of lightweight, high-strength aluminum, and the bearing section of the gimbaled suspension contains a milled housing and high-precision bearing elements. This ensures excellent tracking with a minimum of unwanted needle movement even under demanding conditions such as scratching.
The die-cast aluminum turntable of the SL-1210MK7 has a two-layer structure. The entire underside of the platter is covered with vibration-absorbing rubber, which eliminates unwanted resonances and provides high stability. This protects the platter from harmful vibrations and the result is an unaltered, authentic sound.
The DJ turntable has an extremely robust and extremely low-vibration housing. The combination of the injection-molded aluminum frame and the fiberglass-reinforced ABS plastic construction offers very high strength and vibration damping, ensuring precise and dynamic sound reproduction.
The feet of the SL-1210MK7 provide ideal damping thanks to the spring-rubber construction. In this way an extremely good noise immunity is achieved, which is especially welcome for scratch DJs.
The Technics SL-1210MK7 offers the possibility to activate 78 rpm via the main on/off switch in addition to the two conventional rotation speeds of 33-1/3 and 45 rpm. Apart from this, the pitch range can be extended from ±8% to ±16%, which, thanks to fully digital control, provides improved tracking performance and accuracy for perfect ventilation matching.
The needle illumination of the SL-1210MK7 features a new mechanism and a brighter, long-life LED. In addition, the illumination area has been optimized to make it easier to see the needle in very dark environments.
