With the Taylor Builder's Edition 652ce, a 12-string acoustic guitar has now made it into the favorite series of creative head guitar builder Andy Powers. The small Grand Concert design makes the Builder's Edition 652ce a particularly convenient instrument that is very easy to play despite its twelve strings. The combination of body and scale length (approx. 63 cm), which the Taylor company has also been using for its 12-string high-end instruments for some time, is particularly noticeable here. This particularly successful guitar includes not only visually very appealing materials but also, due to them, is able to reproduce a powerful and defined sound. A fine Sitka spruce top provides a clear sound, rich in overtones, which harmonizes very well with the dyed maple of the body. The fast response, strong volume and warm tone of the woods show that only the best materials are used for this top model of the Builder's Edition series. The edges of the guitar are noticeably rounded, and their user-friendly design ensures a distinctly comfortable playing experience. Also, an armrest and a slightly beveled cutaway show that the Taylor company consciously considers the needs of the guitar player. The neck/body joint on the Taylor Builder's Edition 652ce is located at the twelfth fret of the guitar, giving it a lower string tension than you're used to on 12-string guitars. The V-Class bracing, the new double-mounted string anchoring system at the bridge and the precise Gotoh tuners allow the guitar to intonate optimally over the entire fingerboard and ensure particularly high tuning stability. The appearance of the Builder's Edition is very lovingly designed and the interplay of finish and shape is elegant and aesthetically pleasing. The scepter inlays of shell and mother-of-pearl let it shine through - as the basic features of the guitar originate from the 600 series. The guitar is equipped with a very natural sounding ES-2 Expression System, which allows the player to play with confidence, especially on stage. The whole work is rounded off with an elaborately designed case with floral patterns, which ensures the best protection for the guitar during transport and storage.
