Fast sound development without much effort
With the Taylor 214ce-QS DLX Limitedacoustic guitar, the Californian manufacturer Taylor expands its range with a deluxe version of the popular 200 series, which, in addition to a noble high-gloss finish, also comes with a Taylor deluxe hardshell case. The construction of the body allows the guitar to produce a distinctly balanced sound, which is particularly pronounced in the treble and bass frequencies thanks to a solid top and laminated body. Thanks to a lightweight construction, the guitar responds very directly and allows a quick sound development without much effort, making the guitar in grand auditorium design very versatile. A flat neck with a narrow fretboard combined with a scale length of 648 mm, a nut width of 42.9 mm and a generous cutaway allows perfect access to all 20 frets. At the same time, the smooth-running tuners allow for very precise tuning of the 6 steel strings. In addition, the instrument is equipped with an in-house pickup system, which also amplifies the acoustic sound of the guitar in a decidedly natural way.
Thanks to the medium size and the composition of solid and laminated tonewoods, the guitar becomes an all-rounder
Construction and woods
In order to produce the most balanced sound possible, the top is made of solid Sitka spruce and equipped with X-bracing. This allows an amazingly powerful and defined sound to be extracted from the instrument even with a light touch of the strings. The laminated koa body complements all frequencies with a pleasant warmth, making the instrument excellent for expressive strumming and fine Pickings. At the same time, the flat Sapele neck offers excellent playability on the entire ebony fretboard. Matching the fretboard, the Overlay headstock and bridge are also made of ebony.
Hardware and design
In order to tune the strings precisely and quickly, nickel-plated die-cast tuners are inserted into the characteristic headstock. Meanwhile, the compensated saddle made of Micarta and the narrow nut made of GraphTech Nubone ensure optimal intonation in all positions. The fretboard features finely detailed small-diamond inlays for orientation, adding a sophisticated touch to the instrument alongside the single-ring soundhole rosette, eye-catching cream-coloured binding and large tortoise pickguard.
Electronics
For use on stage or in the rehearsal room, Taylor's own Expression System 2 is built into the body, which transmits the acoustic sound unaltered and directly to the amplifier. Three piezo elements in the bridge transmit the sound of each pair of strings to the side preamp, through which you can individually adjust the output signal. With the help of the controls, the treble, as well as the bass frequencies and the volume can be conveniently adjusted. The active system is powered by a 9V battery, which is stored in a separate slot next to the jack.
