The Tascam DR-44WL is an innovative 4-track handheld recorder. A special feature of this recorder is its extensive WLAN functions. Among other things, these enable complete remote control, streaming playback and file transfer via smartphone or computer. The built-in stereo condenser microphone with shock-absorbing suspension ensures very balanced recordings in most situations. And should the built-in microphones not meet the current requirements, 2 microphone preamps are available for connecting any microphone. To round off the positive overall picture of the Tascam DR-44WL, the high-quality A/D and D/A converters from Cirrus Logic should also be mentioned, which provide a great sound.
With four independent recording tracks, a built-in mixer with reverb effect and the ability to create intermediate mixes (bounce function), the DR-44WL offers the possibility of creating true multi-track recordings. Or record two tracks simultaneously in two different formats (WAV/MP3) or with two different level settings.
The Tascam DR-44WL builds its own WLAN network, which allows you to remotely control the recorder with a free app without touching the recorder. Since the WLAN has a range of about 20 meters, you can use the recorder in places that would normally be unthinkable. The app not only lets you start and stop recording, but also lets you control and adjust the input levels with your iOS or Android device.
Everything that has to do with recording can be done via WLAN.
Tascam DR-44WL Excellent recorder. More than surpassed my expectations. Sound quality is amazing. Also since the app has been updated the wifi function comes in very hand for recording applications. With multi track recording it is easy to compose and construct songs. I can take this anywhere and it hasnt let me down yet. This has replaced my old eight track recording device. For ease of use total sound quality and price I would recommend this device.
