High End Brass Snare - Made in Japan
The Tama Starphonic Snare PBR146 is a high-end professional snare that is made in the Tama factory in Japan. Equipped with a 1.2 mm thick brass shell, this snare produces a massive sound with full projection and a rich resonant sound. To maintain this sound, Tama gave the Starphonic snare drums a new hoop, lug and throw-off design, mounted on a selection of uniquely constructed shells. Perhaps the most important innovation is the "Freedom Lugs" as well as the "Claw Hooks." Thanks to the new design, the claws simply fold away to the side after the screws are loosened slightly. The "Grooved Hoop" can be quickly removed and re-installed in this way, which allows an extremely fast and uncomplicated head change. This system is further refined by a quickly removable butt-end to also speed up the change of the reso head. The fine settings of the snare wire are thus retained 100%, a new fine adjustment is unnecessary. Thanks to a ratchet mechanism, the Super Sensitive Hi-Carbon snare wire can also be adjusted extremely precisely.
The Tama Starphonic Brass 14x7 snare is absolutely spot on in every musical area. It's shows tremendous dynamics across all tuning scenarios. I'm over the moon with my purchase, I honestly can't find a single negative aspect to this wonderful drum. I would highly recommend this snare for any professional or amateur drummer desiring a top quality snare drum that is on par with the best brass snares out there.
