The TC Electronic Vibraclone Rotary is a vintage style effect pedal that recalls the work of 60’s musicians such as Jimi Hendrix, David Gilmour and Robin Trower, as well as those that were later inspired by those tones and artists. Based on the rotating speaker cones most commonly associated with Hammond Organs, guitarists found that sending their signal through such devices and increasing the volume of the tube amp caused an overdriven saturation alongside the rotational effect. The Speed knob increases rotation of the speaker (and will authentically ramp up slowly) whilst Drive will add tube warmth, eventually pushing into distortion. A mode switch flips between Chorale and Tremolo, with Tremolo being the faster and shallower setting.
The main features of the TC Electronic Vibraclone Rotary include:
Excellent, basic rotary sim at a very good price. Dropped a couple of stars because there's at least one way it could be improved - replace the slide with a footswitch to change between Chorale and Tremolo rotation ranges.
