The Big Sky MX is Strymon's latest flagship reverb workstation and offers all new features that not only improve the workflow, but also set new standards in terms of the simultaneous use of different reverb algorithms. With a total of 12 reverb engines and seven new reverb algorithms, the Big Sky MX delivers a gigantic range of setting options that are worthwhile both on stage and in the studio. The biggest highlight of the Big Sky's new
The new features of the Big Sky MX guitar effect deliver a unique and improved use of various reverb engines, providing even broader sound structures and reverb combinations for countless possibilities. At the heart of the Big Sky MX is a tri-core 800 MHz ARM processor that enables the simultaneous use of two reverb algorithms: True to the motto "Sky is the Limit", both reverbs can run serially, in parallel or via split audio routing. A detailed pan control allows the stereo width of different reverb combinations to be ideally matched to your own requirements in order to exploit the full panorama potential of the Big Sky MX.
Compared to its predecessor, the Big Sky MX comes with a revised user interface and an OLED screen that enables a user-friendly workflow. All presets and parameters can be modeled and edited more easily thanks to the visual upgrade. With three footswitches (A, B and Infinite/Freeze) and a new arrangement of controls, the Big Sky MX has a completely new UI look, while the rear of the device features stereo inputs and outputs, MIDI IN/OUTs as well as a USB-C port and an expression input.
The Big Sky MX is an effects pedal that delivers unmistakably broad reverb structures that not only cover classic reverbs à la Room, Hall, Plate or Spring, but also modern modulation-friendly effects such as Cloud, Shimmer or Chorale. In addition, all engine textures have been revised and improved: for example, the Shimmer reverb has been equipped with "end-of-chain" pitch shifting, the Magneto algorithm has been provided with a ping-pong effect - Choral and Bloom have also been supplemented with a completely new engine. Another feature is Impulse Response of ten seconds including 22 preloaded impulse responses, including custom recordings of classic analog devices that bring a distinctive sound character.
