Steinberger Spirit XT-2DB Standard (Black) DB-Drop Tuner Electric Bass
The Steinberger Spirit XT-2DB Standard (Black) is a 4-string electric Bass with DB-Drop Tuner, which comes in the same body design as its ancestors from the 1980s and offers the legendary playability and no-nonsense optics. 2x passive humbuckers, Steinberger DoubleBall Bridge and the Direct Pull tuning system round out the set-up of the Spirit XT-2.
Humbuckers & Passive Electronics 2x Steinberger humbuckers are in both neck and bridge positions and are used in conjunction with a passive electronic circuit, which consists of 2x Volume and 1x Tone potentiometer. This delivers versatile tone colours for almost any musical genre, able to create heavy emphasis on the low end to rocky mid-growl to the dry sound of funky slaps.
Steinberger Hardware Double Ball-End strings are hung in the tailpiece at the front of the neck and from there via a zero collar in the direction of the body. Here, the strings stop at the Steinberger DoubleBall bridge, whose Direct Pull tuners (with a 40:1 ratio) guarantee precise tuning of all strings. A leg-rest can be unfolded on the underside of the body, if the player finds it more comfortable.
The main features of the Steinberger Spirit XT-2DB Standard (Black) include:
Of course we are a long way from the true Steinbergers made in the USA form the past, but the truth is that for the price you pay these are really great basses. They are light, have "the look" and if you're after headless bass guitar this is the way to go.
Nice lightweight guitar. Very playable, and easy on the eye. Packs away well. Dynamic sound, crisp, from top to bottom. Well worth the price. Only one thing. I had hoped for a short scale instrument, but no worries, I don't play very much at the nut end anyway. All in all, a very satisfactory purchase. Thank you. P.S. Nice action.

I must say I LOVE this bass! It required a set up from a luthier, but the resultant sound and feel is pure class. I feel privileged to play such a fine instrument for such moderate price. Anyway the first demo I made with it - got a deal from Sonymusic - so no complaints!
Even with Brexit and the extra hoops international purchasers find themselves facing I have to say I'm impressed. The purchase process was easy and emails arrived in short order. It took a few days extra for the Bass to wing it's way for Germany to me in the UK but again it was no hardship. Excellent company to do business with. When my time comes for an amp upgrade I will be hitting their site.
