More than just a student guitar
The Mustang model was launched in the sixties as a student guitar by Fender, but it has emerged over the years as an indie cult classic. Like all guitars from the house of Fender, it has a character-rich sound and high visual recognition value, so the Mustang in the new Squier Sonic Series may not be missing. With its compact poplar body, short scale length and slim 'C' neck profile, the Squier Sonic Mustang HH IL California Blue electric guitar offers optimal playing characteristics for any needs, whether for beginners or simply as a light companion for the road. With its double humbucker configuration, the Squier Mustang offers crisp rock, metal and punk sounds with variation possibilities through 3-way switches and volume and tone controls. Chrome details and hardware gleam as another highlight of the traditional Mustang build.
With its shorter scale length, the Squier Sonic Mustang HH IL California Blue is an optimally compact electric guitar
The Squier Sonic Series
The Squier Sonic Series brings popular Fender instruments into the hands of beginners looking for quality at an affordable price, provides inspiration for advanced instrumentalists, and expands the Squier concept of making the Fender catalogue available to everyone. With new finishes in fresh and familiar colours, the Sonic Series electric guitars and basses offer excellent value for money.
Bought for somebody re-learning guitar who needed a lightweight instrument. This is quite remarkable for the price. Played great out of the box, no sharp frets, matt finish on the neck, fingerboard finish is not perfect but absolutely fine. Humbuckers sound really good, no squeal like I have heard on other squiers with humbuckers. Controls and switches work fine. For an entry level instrument, you will not get better
