At a very attractive price, the Squier Classic Vibe '60s Competition Mustang Bass Lake Placid Blue combines a surprisingly fat sound with the extremely comfortable feel of a short scale. Here Squier uses a Nato body '60s offset design and a bolt-on maple neck in a comfortable "C" profile, with the 30" scale length (762 mm) not only supporting the smooth playing feel, but also the surprisingly deep tone. On the bass amp, a Fender Designed split-coil pickup with Alnico magnet provides fat bass tones with a clearly audible vintage character. Last but not least, the Fender Squier Classic Vibe '60s Competition Mustang Bass features the beautiful 4-saddle Mustang bass bridge and open Vintage-Style tuners, while the Competition Finish in Lake Placid Blue with Olympic White Racing Stripes provides interested looks.

I bought this bass as a means to record at a decent level from home without breaking the bank. It arrived quickly and packaged incredibly well, and was pretty much playable right out of the box. The build quality seems decent, it sounds very good for a bass of this price and overall I'm very happy with it. The service from DV247/Music Store was excellent.

Squier have been on an up for a little while now I think, generally great products with fantastic fit as finish for the price. The Mustang is no exception, and while there’s a couple of little areas that could have been tidied at QC, quite frankly, for the price (best on the net from DV), it’s a bargain. Great colour too. Cheers
