Squier naturally follows traditional specifications in the construction of the 40th Anniversary Precision BassVintage Edition. In addition to the Nyatoh body with classic lines, the bass guitar has a bolt-on maple neck, which thanks to the powerful C-profile with 42.8 mm nut width has excellent playing characteristics with plenty of space for clean finger placement.

The electrical tone conversion of the 40th Anniversary Precision BassVintage Edition is handled by a Fender Designed split-coil pickup in the centre position. The pickup equipped with Alnico magnets elicits the typical Precision Bass sound with a massive low-end growl from the bass amp, which is best suited for basslines between R'n'B, Rock and Blues. The traditional passive circuit with volume control and treble slider also allows precise adjustment of the personal timbre.
