The Sonor Vintage Series Tom 10 "x8" in RedOyster foil finish is a single drum from the Vintage series with a nine-ply, 6 mm thick shell made of German beech. With its super-profilesteel hoops and teardroptensioning brackets, this TomTom takes its cues from the successful Sonor kits of the '50s, '60s, and '70s, but combines them with modern conveniences and manufacturing methods. For example, the shell is cross-laminated tension-free ( CLTF), and matching the OSM(Optimum Shell Measurement) shell construction is slightly undersized to create optimal contact between the shell rim and the head. This ensures not only easy tunability, but also outstanding sustain. From the original Teardrop drums were taken over the classic roundedcup ridges and the eponymous Teardrop bucks, which, however, have been reworked internally and equipped with a TunseSafetuning puncture.
