The Sonor Artist snare drum AS 16 1305 TI SDW is a high end snare for professional use in the studio and on stage. A noble shell made from beech provides the sound and this 13" Artist snare is also great to look at.
An elaborate shell made from beech is the base of this exclusive snare drum. A total of 27 plies of this hard wood are turned into a perfectly round shell while the outer ply is not made from beech but from the Indian apple Tineo which gives this snare the distinguished look. The shell has a total strength of 26 mm, the bearing edge has the classic 45° on both sides.
The snare is tuned with steel hoops and 8 tuning rods per side. The lugs feature offset alignment and thereby create the Sonor logo. The 24-strand steel snare wire is attached and adjusted with help of the patented Dual Glide system. A special feature of this throw-off is a mechanism that allows you to simply detach one side by pressing a button. A great and simple way to change the reso head. This feature saves a lot of time since you do not have to readjust and re-tune the snare wires after changing the head.
The heads for the Sonor instruments come from the leading Remo brand. Both batter and resonant head are single ply and have medium strength. Transparent reso head and white, coated batter head.
The instruments of the Sonor Artist series are created in close cooperation with some of the best drummers in the world. The product range covers a wide selection of individual models, optimized for various tasks. This particular model is great for Funk and Fusion as well as electronic Dance music.
