Long shotgun for long distances
The Sennheiser MKH 8070 is a long shotgun microphone that can be used to pick up sound sources from long distances. It has a strong directional effect and the directional characteristic of a lobe, which means that even under difficult acoustic conditions, distant sources can be captured reliably. Sound waves that hit the microphone from the side are suppressed without coloration by its design, so that only the waves from the main direction of incidence (from the front) reach the diaphragm and cause it to vibrate.
