With the Sandberg Panther Special 5 RW Red Leather, the iconic Brunswick company sends a very special version of its agile Panther design into the race. While the red ostrich leather on body and headstock make the five-string a real highlight both visually and haptically, the elaborate noble bass construction with mahogany body, walnut top, maple neck and extra-long 35" scale length (889 mm) creates the basis for excellent playing characteristics and a dignified sound. Two Sandberg trapeze pickups and an active 2-band tone control also promise a rich palette of top-class bass sounds that make the Panther Special 5 an all-rounder for almost any musical style. Sandberg naturally completes the Panther Special 5 RW Red Leather with in-house Hardware in the form of the solid Bridge 5 and tuning stable Machine Heads.
The Sandberg Panther Special 5 RW Red Leather is a unique piece covered with red ostrich leather from the Brunswick bass forge.
Due to the smooth transition to the body, the five-screw maple neck can be easily played up to the highest positions.
Noble bass with 35" scale length
Underneath the soft and durable ostrich leather, the Panther Special 5 hides a true noble bass construction, which promises a tight and detailed sound with carefully selected woods and the extra-long 35" scale length (889 mm). While the walnut-topped mahogany body promises ideal handling both on the strap and on the thigh thanks to the sweeping design with large-area comfort shapings, the five-piece maple neck can be easily played up to the highest positions of the rosewood finger board thanks to the flat C-profile.
Sandberg trapeze pickups and an active 2-band tone control make the Panther 5 an all-rounder for almost any genre.
Trapeze pickups and active EQ
As pickup for the Panther Special 5 Red Leather chooses Sandberg two in-house trapeze pickups. In addition to their unmistakable design, the Bass pickups convince with a powerful, yet finely resolved sound that elicits the right sounds from the bass amplifier for almost any style of music. In addition to the blend control for smooth mixing of both pickups and the volume control, the five-stringer has an active Preamp with 2-band equalizer, and the tone can be adjusted exactly to your own preferences.
The headstock of the Panther Special 5 carries tuning stable Sandberg Machine Heads.

Last but not least, developed in-house SandbergHardware completes the Panther Special 5 RW Red Leather. On the body, the solidly built Sandberg Bridge 5 not only supports the tight sound of the 5-string bass, but also guarantees exact intonation and string action adjustment with lockable tailpieces. On the headstock, which is also covered with red ostrich leather, Sandberg Machine Heads also keep the Panter 5 securely in the correct tuning.
