The Sandberg Electra VS4 RW Creme marks the entry into the world of the Braunschweig company. Accordingly, Sandberg uses high-quality components from Korean production, which are assembled in Braunschweig to form the finished electric bass and subjected to a careful final inspection, so that this 4-string bass can impress with the typical Sandberg quality but at an attractive price. Equipped with a basswood body and a bolt-on maple neck in "C" profile, this four-string bass promises classic and comfortable handling, whereas a Sandberg Designed split-coil pickup with active 2-band EQ promises powerful bass sounds between Rock, Blues, Soul and Metal. In addition to the proven Sandberg Bridge 4, precise open-gear tuners with adjustable rotation resistance complete the Sandberg Electra VS4 RW Creme.
For the Electra VS4 RW Creme, Sandberg has opted for a classic design that promises a crisp sound and smooth handling. Accordingly, the basswood body is perfectly balanced both on the strap and on the thighs, whereas the bolt-on maple neck with six screws in a flat "C" profile with 37 mm nut width guarantees comfortable playability on the 22-fret rosewood fretboard.
The VS4 RW Creme's electrical sound conversion is provided by a Sandberg Designed split-coil pickup, which is naturally placed in the sweet spot in the middle of the body. Equipped with one fat pole piece per string, this pickup delivers extremely thrusting bass sounds with a powerful deep mid-range growl that makes every note hit the pit of your stomach. The Sandberg Electra VS4 is also equipped with a 2-band active equalizer for precise tone adjustment.
Last but not least, the Sandberg Electra VS4 RW Cream convinces with its high-quality hardware equipment. The body is fitted with the Sandberg Bridge 4 with three-dimensionally adjustable string saddles, which allows for optimal adjustment of intonation, pitch and string spacing. The headstock features open-gear tuners with adjustable resistance for smooth and precise tuning of the four strings.
Sandberg Electra VS4 RW CremeThe bass sounds great for the price range. The action is a bit high if you respect the neck curvature. The frets are jumbo sized, which doesn't help if you like a soft action bass. After setting up and fret-dressing it plays very well. It's a fairly lightweight bass and it looks amazing. Unfortunately, Musicstore shipped it with no other info other than the address and I had to contact a bunch of GLS services before finding the item. It finally arrived, a few days later than the gig that I'd bought it for.
