The maple neck of the California VT4 is bolted six times to the alder body.

The construction of the California VT4 Masterpiece follows the proven specifications for an electric bass. While the bass builders from Braunschweig manufacture the body from resonance-friendly alder with Thermo-Treatment, the six-way bolted neck is made of maple and a Pau Ferro fingerboard. After completion, the entire bass guitar is also subjected to vibration treatment to achieve the lively old school sound of a perfectly played-in instrument. To make sure that every Bassline sound comes out of your fingers easily, the neck also has a comfortable C-profile with a nut width of 39.5 mm.
Delano pickups with fat steel poles give the Masterpiece California VT4 a versatile sound with natural vintage character.

The electrical tone conversion of the California VT4 is realized by a Delano JMVC single-coil at the bridge and a Delano PMVC split-coil in the middle position. With them, the 4-string Bass on the amp delivers a wide spectrum of classic bass tones with a distinctly vintage nuance, ranging from the wiry transparent enforcement tone of the single-coil to the growling low-mid boost of the split-coil. Here, the pickups' fat steel poles lend the tone a smooth response and gentle, natural compression that will carry any groove when Bass played. To further adjust the sound character, an active 2-band tone control is also on board, whose excellent tuning always promises musical sound experiences even at extreme settings.
Sandberg Machine Heads provide high tuning stability on the headstock of the California VT4 bass guitar.

High-quality SandbergHardware completes the equipment of the California VT4 PF 3-Tone Sunburst Masterpiece bass guitar. The bridge used is the solidly built Sandberg Bridge 4, whose mass has a positive effect on the Sustain and sound development of the four-stringer. Its three-dimensionally adjustable tailpieces allow furthermore the perfect adjustment of intonation and string action as well as the adjustment of the string spacing. At the headstock, the strings are first guided over the zero fret and saddle, before they find support at the light and tuning-stable Sandberg Machine Heads.
