The SPL Madicon is a modern MADI router with USB connection and supports 64x64 MADI channels. Using SPL's SmartMADI technology, several of SPL's Madisons can be daisy-chained just like devices in a LAN network, without the need for a second router if there are more than 2 devices. An S/PDIF output provides channels 1/2, which can be used with an external DA-converter, eg. an SPL Phonitor, for latency-free monitoring. Mixer software is included that can freely route all channels and eg. can be used for direct recording without a DAW.
The Madicon can be clocked via both external and internal clock and can handle sample rates up to 192kHz at 24-bit. Power is supplied via USB.
Together with SPL's Madison, the Madicon represents an effective and well thought-out recording concept: Instead of a core and multiple distribution boxes, only one or multiple Madison needs to be placed in the recording room and two fiber cables run to the control room.
