Wireless Go is an innovative, ultra-compact wireless microphone system from RØDE, which convinces with its intuitive operation, transparent sound and its "size". Consisting of a small transmitter with a built-in microphone and an equally tiny receiver module, you're ready for interviews, documentaries, reports, YouTube content, filming and much more quickly and easily. However, if you want to use your own favourite lavalier microphone or headset, you can of course do so via the Mini 3.5mm jack socket. On board the RX receiver module there is also a switchable pre-attenuation to transmit the signal to the following device - e.g. recorder, camera, etc. - if required and with regard to the level. - to be able to adapt.
Thanks to the clamps on the transmitter and receiver, these can be mounted quickly, safely and relatively unobtrusively. Practically, the receiver can be slid onto the hot shoe of a camera and connected with the included jack spiral cable or clamped to a smartphone to ensure a direct, stable connection between the recording source and target when recording film/sound - the range of the transmitter is 70m when the line of sight is clear! Rode also uses the latest Series III 2.4 GHz technology, which is not only free of registration and fees, but also extremely insensitive to WLAN and Bluetooth interference. In addition, there are integrated rechargeable batteries with a runtime of up to 7 hours (charging via supplied USB-C cable) as well as the possibility to use up to eight Wireless-GO systems simultaneously.
In addition to the two fur windjammers, a transport case to protect the system is included in the scope of delivery.
I am super happy with my new wireless go mic. Have been using it for my online Meditation /Yoga classes and my Women Circle. Def will recommend it
Rode have manged to produce a very small inexpensive radio mic transmitter with a very clean built-in mic optimised for clear speech - and with no noticeable background hiss, which is normally evident on cheaper systems. It requires no setting up and is designed to hop between frequencies to get the best reception. I have tested it up to 120 paces in an open field and it was still going strong in line-of-sight. But if you turn round so it has to transmit through your body the range is much less. I have achieved contant reception up to 19m in an open field with the mic transmitter clipped on my chest with the clip outermost (ie with the logo facing my chest - towards the the receiver behind me) with the receiver mounted VERTICALLY. If the receiver is mounted horizontally (eg on the camera shoe) the range 'through my body' drops to about 10m. If I mount the mic with the logo facing away from my chest I only get a range of about 11m - irrespective of whether the receiver is mounted vertically or horizontally. Either way this is pretty good for a product of this price and sound quality provided that you test and work within its imitations. The range seems to be much better near buildings - in my back garden I could not get it to drop out over 40 paces transmitting back through my chest - and the garden has open fields at the bottom and only buildings along the frontage. I have not managed yet to get far enough away in an open field to get the unobstructed signal to drop - at 120 paces it was still strong and consistent.
The unit is plastic but nicely made. There have been reports that some units fail to revert back to the internal mic after plugging in an external mic but Rode give an extended 2 year guarantee so if it happens it should be rectified or replaced. I have not tried an external mic yet !
Super please and what a difference, been doing some volunteer work for the local church to get messages into the school kids whilst on lock-down and the sound difference between this and built in camera sound is light years apart. Great purchase and fantastic service! Will 100% use again, looking for a RØDE camera mic now
I have just bought a second one of these and it does the job I need it to brilliantly. Obviously, you can spend more for better quality, but I don't think you can fault the quality for the price you pay 👍
