Clarity meets mobility
The Interview Pro from Rode is a wireless microphone that can be connected to a Rode radio link (2.4 GHz band, free of charge and registration). During recording, the microphone can move up to 200 m away from the connected receiver with a clear line of sight until the connection is lost. In addition, the omnidirectional polar pattern ensures that there is no proximity effect and that the sound is picked up equally from all directions, which means that the microphone does not always have to be perfectly aligned with the sound source. To make the microphone even more flexible, the Interview Pro incorporates GainAssist® technology, which provides automatic pre-amplification if the signal to be recorded is too low.
Recording function
In addition to the recording function, the Rode Interview Pro also offers a recording function with its own record button and a built-in 32 GB memory for recording around 40 hours of uncompressed audio signal as a WAV file. If there is a need to briefly interrupt the recording during recording, for example if unwanted background noise occurs, the mute button is available to mute the microphone. The Interview Pro also offers 32-bit floating point audio, which makes it practically impossible to distort the signal through digital clipping if the limit sound pressure level of 122dB is not exceeded. If the recording later contains loud passages with flattened level peaks, these can be compensated for in post-production in a DAW compatible with 32-bit float by normalizing.
Podcast anywhere
To be able to use the Interview Pro anywhere, Rode has equipped the device with a lithium-ion battery that has a runtime of up to 30 hours and is charged via the USB-C socket on the base of the microphone. This USB-C input is also used for the digital output of the on-board recording, for which a SuperSpeed USB-C cable is included in the scope of delivery. Digital conversion takes place at 32-bit/48 kHz.
Requirements for digital audio transmission: Windows 10, Mac or 11, Android 11 respectively iOS 14
Attention: No receiver is included in the scope of delivery. The Interview Pro cannot be used in a radio link without a receiver. However, operation as a handheld recorder is possible at any time. Compatible receivers are linked in the overview above.
