The Rickenbacker 4003S5 Satin Walnut is a straightforward 5-string electric bass that combines the typical Rickenbacker sound with the extended range of a low B-string. In addition to the usual neck-through construction, Rickenbacker uses its own single-coil pickups with flexible passive switching for the five-string bass guitar. High-quality Hardware from Schaller completes the 4003S5 electric bass from Rickenbacker.

Neck-Through Construction
In order to perfectly integrate the low B-string into the brilliant Rickenbacker sound, the Californian company uses a neck-through construction with 33.3" scale length (845 mm) for the 4003S5. Besides the neck-through made of hard maple, the five-string has body wings made of walnut. The extremely slim neck profile also promises particularly agile playing characteristics on the 20-fret fingerboard.

Under the extraordinary triangle caps the 4003S5 hides two Rickenbacker single coil pickups, which deliver a dynamic and brilliant Bass sound with perfect output of the H-string at the bass amplifier. To adjust the tone, the five-string has a classic 3-way circuit with separate volume and tone controls for each pickup. Also on board is the Vintage Tone Circuit, which elicits a particularly treble-rich tone from the bridge pickup in the style of the classic 4001 Bass. While the popular Schaller 3D bridge on the body of the 4003S5 guarantees optimum adjustment of intonation and string position, Schaller Deluxe tuners on the headstock ensure precise and stable tuning.
