In addition, thanks to a generous cutaway, the beginner-friendly instrument can be fingered very obligingly in all 20 frets. In addition, the in-house pickup system with side preamp already includes a tuner that is very easy to use. The Red Hill DCE-S is rounded off by a matte black finish.
To ensure that every note can unfold quickly and over a wide area, the large body is equipped with a solid spruce top, which colors the tone with expressive midrange and treble frequencies. At the same time, laminated mahogany back and sides provide warm bass frequencies, perfectly complementing the sound. The heart of the Red Hill DCE-48-S Black is undoubtedly the slim mahogany neck with a fingerboard made of selected hardwood that measures 43 mm at the nut. A flat profile allows especially beginners an effortless grip of the 6 steel strings.
The outer appearance is significantly influenced by the fine maple bindings on the top, the back and the fretboard, which form a tasteful transition between the individual components of the body. In addition, the matte black lacquered top is adorned by a single ring soundhole rosette that perfectly matches the dot inlays in the fretboard. Precise die-cast tuners with screwed knobs complete the overall design with their chrome-plated hardware and guarantee easy tuning.
Another feature is the built-in pickup system, which reproduces the acoustic sound of the instrument in a very natural way, even when amplified. The extensive Red Hill JM-6T side preamp allows an individual adjustment of bass, middle and treble frequencies by means of a 4-band equalizer. In addition, the signal can be enriched in the treble range via a presence control. Furthermore, the internal tuner with a large display offers welcome assistance, especially for beginners. A red status LED signals the player that the 9V battery needed for the pickup should be changed.
