RME offers the DigifaceAVB, a mobile audio interface with USB bus power operation that works with the open IEEE 802.1 protocol as part of the AVBstandard of the Audio/Video Bridging Task Group, allowing synchronized and prioritizedstreaming ofaudio data over a Gigabit network. Via USB 3 connection up to 128audio channels with sampling rates up to 192 kHz can be streamed into the AVBnetwork as well as further 128channels back to the computer. To ensure maximum compatibility with the AVB audio devices available on the market, the channel sizes of the streams can be adjusted between 2 and 32channels. In addition, there is a word clockI/O and a high-quality headphone output for convenient monitoring of the signals to be transmitted. The complete package is rounded off by an additional DSP based TotalMixFX mixer with its comprehensive routing and monitoring options, as well as an AVDECC controller. The latter is used to provide central functions for the detection of all AVB devices within a network and enables the management and monitoring of the connections of incoming and outgoing streams.
