The Revv G4 Distortion is essentially the red channel of the Revv generator amplifier in a pedal board friendly box, giving you the sonic equivalent of a sledgehammer anywhere you go. Solid high-gain sounds are guaranteed, no matter how much gain you like. The compact pedal offers not only a 3-band tone control but also 3x separate voices which give a different response and gain structure.
The main features of the Revv G4 Distortion include:
Distortion Effect Pedal for Electric Guitar
Based on the Red Channel of the Revv Guitar Amplifier
I have been searching for a high gain sound that suited my style that was budget friendly and practical for being a hobbie guitarist. As much as I would love a massive 100 watt valve stack at home it's not practical for me.
The hunt for a high gain sound brought me to this Revv G4. Its case is sturdy, the dials are firm enough that are easy to turn and don't appear to be easily knock, I prefer the position of the Jack inputs to normal position pedals tend to use and the 3 gain stages all sound amazing!
I did not give this the full 5 stars for features as I do feel there are a couple of areas which would take this from an amazing pedal to a undisputed high gain champion.
One would be for the LED to change colour for the gain stage engaged so easy to tell in a live situation if you need to change for the next song.
Another would be to have the option for switching gain type either as an additional footswitch on the pedal or the option to attach a switch (like with some tap tempos). I could really see my self using this as both sound amazing for different applications.
These points are picky and tbf aren't likely to be used by 90% of people using them and should not distract from just how beautiful this product is and how amazing it sounds!
I will be looking to buy the G3 at some point and hopefully some Revv amps!
