With the Presonus Quantum 4848, your audio interface is an integrated extension of your recording environment. The DB25 rear I/O line level makes it easy to connect your Quantum 4848 to your existing analog patchbay. With 32 channels, both inputs and outputs, at sample rates of up to 192 kHz, you can route audio from your vintage device and analog recording console to your DAW and back, capturing every nuance of your equipment - all in flawless quality. The integration of digital devices is made possible by 16 channels of ADAT I/O. For a complete addition of 48 conversion channels, you can simply add two DigiMax DP88s via the 16 ADAT channels. As a true Thunderbolt device, up to 4 Quantum 4848 interfaces can be stacked to a 192x192 system - or the Quantum 4848 can be combined with Quantum and Quantum 2 interfaces to add PreSonus' on-demand XMAX Class A high-headroom preamplifier.
The Studio One Professional Pipeline XT plugin lets you add hardware processors to your Studio One session while automatically compensating for latency. Once inserted, Pipeline XT works just like any other plug-in effect, so you can drag and drop it from one channel to the next or change the insert order. Studio One's latency management allows you to stay in the native processing domain throughout the production process, so you can easily combine and sync your favorite plug-ins with your favorite boutique hardware processors. Studio One also allows the Quantum 4848 to be as fast as you need it to be - flexible dropout protection reduces the risk of audio failure for large, CPU-loaded songs, even with very small buffer settings.
Every design decision made during the development of Quantum was made with one goal in mind: Speed. Quantum has a high-speed connection with Thunderbolt and a straightforward Direct-to-DAW architecture designed to transport your audio to and from your DAW with imperceptible latency. State-of-the-art 24-bit and 192 kHz converters with 120 dB dynamic range ensure the fidelity of your audio on its way into the digital world.
Some DAWs limit your I/O access when using third-party audio interfaces. The Quantum 4848 solves this problem by providing three channel profile modes that allow you to customize the input and output channel configuration when the application you are using limits you to 32 inputs and outputs or less. Set the Quantum 4848 to use 32 analog inputs with 16 ADAT channels, 24 analog inputs with 8 ADAT channels, or 16 analog inputs with 16 ADAT channels to customize the range of analog and digital inputs to better meet your needs. And when you're tired of limiting your available inputs, start Studio One Professional to record up to 192 simultaneous inputs, mix and master your sessions - all with the same software.
Audiophile digital converters and low jitter clocking ensure an excellent recording and listening experience. The Quantum audio interface works at up to 192 kHz for ultra-high resolution mixing and recording. High-quality converters at each input and output provide 120 dB dynamic range to record complex musical overtones smoothly and naturally without audible distortion. BNC wordclock I/O and low jitter clocking ensure that the Quantum 4848 and other digital audio devices work in close sync to ensure excellent picture quality.
Designed for the modern analog studio, the Quantum 4848 offers flexible connectivity that easily integrates into analog patch bays, vintage consoles and more. And with Studio One's unique Pipeline XT plug-in and performance management tools, bringing your analog studio to the digital realm has never been so easy or sound-rich.
