Every design decision in the development of the Presonus Quantum 2626 audio interface was made with one goal in mind: blazing speed without compromising sound. The Quantum Series Thunderbolt driver was designed from the ground up to deliver ultra-low latency performance with maximum efficiency. State-of-the-art 24-bit, 192 kHz converters with 115 dB dynamic range and superior clocking, and coupled with the ultra-transparent, all-analog XMAX preamps, result in superb audio quality with the lowest round-trip latency of any audio interface available (< 1 ms*). The front panel of the Presonus Quantum 2626 provides the user with 8 combo jack inputs for instruments, microphones and line signals and two adjustable headphone preamps, while the back panel offers 8 balanced outputs, a stereo main output, Midi IN/OUT SPDIF, word clock and optical ins and outs with a respective sampling rate of 48 - 96 kHz. The analogue XMAX preamps as well as the high resolution of the digital converter ensure a warm, authentic and brilliant recording. Last but not least, the Presonus Quantum 2626 comes with the Studio One Artist recording software and the Studio Magic plug-in bund le.
The all-analog XMAX Presonus Quantum 2626 preamps produce superb audio quality with surprisingly low latency
I Purchased the quantum 2626 after the usual dilemma that everyone gets when buying new gear, which is wondering if it will be worth spending the money. This unit is definitely worth the money. When I first opened it I was very impressed with the build quality. It's a sturdy unit and the gain and volume pots are solid. The one down point on opening the box is that there is no thunderbolt cable provided so if you were waiting eagerly to get stuck in you'll be disappointed. Luckily I had a cable.
The software bundle provided with the unit is great. It comes with Studio one artist which is great for getting going. The plugins/ instrument bundle is super. I did have an issue with some of the serial numbers provided by Presonus to register the products but this was very quickly sorted by Presonus which was a relief
Connecting the unit was very simple and it integrated perfectly with studio one. The Preamps sound great. Very clean and they handle loud signals excellently. The Headphone outs are really powerful and more than adequate for loud tracking. There's no audible latency which is a dream for recording. For the Price of this unit there's nothing to fault really. It's a great interface at a reachable price point with Thunderbolt 3. I'm delighted with it.
