The Pioneer DJ - DJM-S7 is a professional 2-channel battle mixer for scratch enthusiasts and club DJs with a penchant for innovative performances. The hardware unlock DJ mixer for rekordbox runs equally well with the included full version of Serato DJ Pro. The DJM-S7's clear user interface features large load buttons, a total of 16 performance pads including independent pad modes, large effect levers for activating the 22 beat FX, the Magvel Fader Pro and other Pioneer DJ typical battle mixer controls. Additional key features of the Pioneer DJ - DJM-S7 are the Combo Pad mode, Scratch Bank and Gate Cue, which are available when using Serato DJ Pro. Thanks to the Bluetooth input, you can use audio data from your mobile phone wirelessly in any performance. This can be loops that you want to scratch over or one-shots that are triggered. The sounds are simply routed directly to the master output or to one of the channels. In addition, there is now Loop MIDI. A function that allows you to send MIDI commands to Serato DJ Pro and rekordbox via an effect lever. This opens up exciting possibilities for rhythmically controlling performance functions.
Since the launch of rekordbox 6.0 in April 2020, there are a variety of new features as well as a new subscription system with the three models, Free (free), Core and Creative (paid subscription - not included). The DJM-S7 acts as a hardware unlock device and activates Performance & DVS mode without having to subscribe to a paid plan. The download link for the software as well as all details about the respective subscriptions can be found on the rekordbox-website.
Since the Pioneer DJ - DJM-S7 is already activated for Serato DJ Pro, users only need to go to the Serato DJ homepage and, after registering a Serato account with their own e-mail address and installing the device drivers of the Pioneer DJM-S7 for the corresponding computer operating system, download the current Serato DJ Pro version and can then immediately start using Serato Performance Mode or DVS. The following link takes you directly to the Serato website.
