Pioneer DJ DDJ 400 Overview
The DDJ 400 is a 2-channel DJ controller for entry-level DJs that works perfectly with the professional performance app rekordbox dj (free license included) and takes full advantage of all the features of the currently released rekordboxTM version 5.3. The DJ controller supports the new tutorial function in rekordbox dj, which explains how to get started step by step using basic equipment. Lightweight and easy to carry, the DDJ 400 incorporates many elements from Pioneer DJ's pro series in terms of design. The layout of the dedicated play/pause and cue buttons is taken from the NXS2 setup, as are the beat FX, CDJ-style looping controllers and more.

Since the launch of rekordbox 6.0 in April 2020, there are a lot of new features as well as a new subscription system with the three models, Free (free), Core and Creative (paid subscription - not included). The Pioneer DJ DDJ 400 acts as a hardware unlock device and activates performance mode without having to subscribe to a paid plan. The interface of theplayer and mixer section feels immediately familiar, as the knobs and buttons match the layout of the club-standard CDJ-2000NXS2andDJM-900NXS2. The jog wheels, cue buttons, tempo slider, loop section and cue/loop call buttons resemble the design of the CDJ-2000NXS2. The trim and EQ controls and headphone cue buttons allow you to perform just as you would on the DJM-900NXS2.

With the help of the tutorial feature of rekordbox dj, you can learn how to best use the equipment and correctly apply DJ techniques. To do this, simply follow the instructions of the tutorial on the monitor of your PC/Mac. The tutorial feature is also compatible with Pioneer DJ - DDJ-RB.

Thanks to the Beat FX feature the Pioneer DDJ 400, theapplication of the effects is simplified because they always stay in time on the currently playing song.
