The Pioneer DJ DDJ-200 is a smart 2-channel DJ controller for entry-level & hobby DJs. The DJ controller can be connected to a smartphone, tablet or PC/Mac via Bluetooth & USB MIDI to use Pioneer DJ's app WeDJ (iPhone), MWM SAS's edjing Mix (iPhone/iPad/Android) (not included), Algoriddim's djay (iPhone/iPad) (not included) or Pioneer DJ's professional performance app rekordbox dj (PC/MAC), for example. Furthermore, a variety of music streaming services are supported. The prerequisite for this is a completed subscription to the respective platform.
All features in WeDJ and can be used with the Pioneer DJ DDJ-200 free of charge as long as it is connected to the respective device. If the DDJ-200 is not connected to a smartphone/tablet/PC/Mac, using paid features of WeDJ (iPhone) will result in additional costs (in-app purchase).
Since the launch of rekordbox 6.0 in April 2020, there are a lot of new features as well as a new subscription system with the three models, Free (free), Core and Creative (paid subscription - not included). The Pioneer DJ - DDJ-200 acts as a hardware unlock device and activates the performance mode without having to subscribe to a paid plan. The download link for the software, as well as all the details about the respective subscriptions, can be found on the rekordbox website.
For professional-sounding DJ mixes, the lightweight and compact Pioneer DJ DDJ-200 includes performance pads, dedicated filter controls, and transition effects such as Phrase Sync and Transition FX, in addition to essential DJ features. Once Transition FX is activated, it mirrors cross-fader movements with predefined effects. To do this, you can select different Transition FX to create a build-up or breakdown. You can also buy new Transition FX in-app. Also very handy are the tutorial and pop hint features in Pioneer DJ's own app WeDJ (iPhone/Ver. 2.0) for proper use of DJ equipment as well as DJ performance tips.

This is a very simple product and is a good laugh. I’ve used it for the Djay app from my iPhone and honestly can’t fault it for doing the basics on 2 channels/turntables.
I’d recommend it to anyone after a bit of fun in the living room when you don’t want to do anything super advanced.
As a degree qualified Electronics Engineer who has worked in the Test and Measurement industry for 25 years, I know my electronics and I have to say for the money this is the best piece of electronic kit I have ever bought.
It works really well with my Android tablet and as a beginner DJ I had a great time playing some old classics in the conservatory, it has made my new hobby even more addictive. In fact as I am working from home, I might finish early and go have another play!
