Flexible Paul Reed SmithSignature Guitar
With the PRS SE Paul's Guitar Turquoise, Paul Reed Smith presents the SE version of its personal Signature guitar, in which the experience gained over more than three decades in guitar construction and sound design is concentrated. Based on the established doublecut design, PRS relies on a mahogany construction with a set "Wide Fat" neck and a "Violin Carve" maple top with a chic curly maple veneer. Two split PRS TCI "S" humbuckers are used as pickups, which promise an enormous variety of sounds for almost any style between jazz, Blues and rock. Last but not least, the SE Paul's Guitar Turquoise by PRS has a wraparound bridge with brass inserts and PRS Vintage-Style tuners.
The PRS SE Paul's Guitar Turquoise combines Paul Reed Smith's more than 30 years of guitar making experience in a flexible electric guitar with a first-class sound.
The comfortable "Wide Fat" mahogany neck is glued to the body of the SE Paul's Guitar.
Proven construction with comfortable "wide fat" neck
The construction of the SE Paul's Guitar follows the typical PRS Style and combines an elegant look with first-class playing and sound characteristics. Accordingly, the mahogany body has a curved maple top with a stylish "violin carve" and chic curly maple veneer for the dignified PRS look. The pleasantly strong "wide fat" profile also promises comfortable playability in all positions of the glued mahogany neck.
TCI "S" humbuckers, which can be individually split via two mini-switches, promise first-class vintage sounds for almost any style of music.
TCI "S" humbucker for flexible sounds
For the electrical sound conversion, PRS uses two TCI "S" humbuckers, which are optimally tuned to the guitar in terms of capacitance and inductance (Tuned Capacitance and Inductance). Finely resolved vintage tones are thus available on the guitar amplifier, whose métier is clean and distorted sounds between jazz, Blues and rock. The humbuckers can be split via two mini-switches, so that glassy single coil sounds expand the sound repertoire of the electric guitar. The pickup of the SE Paul's Guitar is also managed in the classic way using a 3-way switch and general volume and tone controls.
Classic vintage-style tuners keep the PRS SE Paul's Guitar securely and stably in tune.
Typical PRS hardware
Naturally, PRS Guitars completes the SE Paul's Guitar Turquoise with reliable hardware that is perfectly matched to the character of the electric guitar. A PRS wraparound bridge is used as the bridge, whose compensated string rest promises clean intonation. Brass inserts under the strings also support the lively sound character. In addition, six vintage-style tuners on the headstock in typical PRS style promise precise and robust tuning of the guitar.
After 45 years+ playing Fender, i thought i would give the PRS SE a try. I liked the look of the SE Paul's guitar, and after buying one and using it for around a month, i cannot believe how good the build quality is on what is supposed to be a " budget PRS " ! The neck is flatter than what i am used to and is extremely comfortable to play. I have owned Gibsons over the years but never really liked the thick sound they produce, this PRS on the other hand has the out of phase tone switches for both pickups and can have a truly great clean sound without trimming using the volume pot. Cannot recommend this guitar enough, Blue Peter Badge and a Crackerjack pencil to DV247 for making it so easy to purchase online, as i am a long way from the nearest store.
