Versatile hollow-body guitar with chic look and classic sound
With the PRS SE hollow-body II Faded Blue BurstPaul Reed Smith sends an extremely versatile and chic electric guitar from the SE series into the race, which combines the stability and handling of an electric guitar with the organic sound of a hollow-body guitar. In addition to the mahogany body with resonance chambers and maple veneered top, PRS relies on a glued mahogany neck in the grippy "wide fat" profile. Two PRS 58/15 "S" humbuckers with authentic vintage sound provide the adequate sound transformation, which skillfully capture the timbre of the hollowbody construction. Reliable Hardware in the form of a PRS Adjustable Wraparound Bridge and tuning stable PRS Die-Cast tuners complete the SE hollow-body II Faded Blue Burst electric guitar from PRS.
The PRS SE Hollowbody II Faded Blue Burst is a premium hollowbody guitar with resonant tone character and dignified PRS look.
Hollowbody guitar in typical PRS design
When designing the hollow-body II Faded Blue Burst, Paul Reed Smith Guitars pays special attention to a resonant sound and first-class playing characteristics. The generous resonance chambers of the mahogany body are accordingly closed by a solid maple top and back, with curly maple veneers in a blue burst finish providing the dignified look. In addition, the glued mahogany neck feels full and comfortable in the hand thanks to its sturdy "wide fat" profile, so that every lick comes off with ease on the 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with the coveted Bird inlays.
Versatile sound with vintage character
For the pickup of the SE hollow-body II, PRS chooses two 58/15 "S" humbuckers. The pickups, designed on the basis of classic pickups from the Golden Era, convince with a warm vintage character that transmits the timbre of the resonant body with balanced transparency to the guitar amplifier and is ideally suited for clean and distorted sounds between pop, blues, jazz and rock. To be able to adjust the tone precisely, Paul Reed Smith equips the classic 3-way circuit with separate volume and tone controls for each pickup.
Indestructible hardware equipment
Last but not least, the SE hollow-body II Faded Blue Burst electric guitar from PRS offers high-quality hardware features that can handle professional use on stage and at Studio with unrestricted reliability. The one-piece PRS Adjustable Wraparound Stoptail Bridge guarantees optimal intonation and string action without disturbing the classic look of the guitar. PRS die-cast tuners on the headstock also ensure precise tuning with high stability.
The guitar arrived in perfect tune. Finishing, electronics and mechanics are flawless.
I have used American models and honestly, the ratio of price/quality of the SE series seems to be up to the expectations.
With an Orange Crush 35RT both clean and cranked sounds are top, with no noise added at all. Very light and comfortable to play, by all means. Happy I finally decided to get it.
